REFLECTION 4

There were lot of things that the church then had influenced the church today. Such as ; both elements of the Lord's supper should be received by believers, the scripture should be the source  of doctrine and not the bishop not even the pope,the church is where the people are and not confined by cathedrals. These were some of the influences from the reformation. I am glad to know that I am one of the recipients of these reformation. I know that this is really true because I even find it in the Bible that the Scripture is dependable because it is the word from God.  Today, as believers in Christ we should hide the Word but to spread it with the love of the Lord. As I study His Word, I appreciate how God order from his perfect creation up to sending his Son Jesus Christ in order to save the people in the world.

REFLECTION 9

Spanish mission hindered  the Philippines to grow . Even before the Spanish friars had not given the Filipinos a freedom to live freely. They were the one who hold the Filipinos lives. However, there were some contributions brought by them in the Philippines. Despite of the Spanish oppressiveness to Roam Catholic Church still it remained large in numbers. I am proud enough to the Filipinos then that even if they were not the one who led the Philippines but still Christianity particularly in separation of church and state still exist. I would say that Filipinos were tested by their faith and they remained it. It was a privilege to know that the history of the church was challenging for the people who were behind of the success of the church. To have a contribution for the church, I will teach those doctrines to the young ones because I believe that they are our future ministers.

REFLECTION 8

We are ought to seek and follow God because He gave his life to us. But what happened is different. People nowadays are modernalize. It is emphasis on human potential, progress and material world. From the beginning , God created human as his own image but when the sin existed, His creation were distorted that's why, people chose their own will. Man tends to replace God into worldly things . Their hearts never belong to God anymore. But God did not stop there. He doesn't allowed human to be complacent to do evil things yet He had a wise decision . God sent Hid Son Jesus Christ to save our sinful natures. 

I am a child of God. No one can ever snatch me nor betray me for I am in Him. I am one of his creation so I am beautifully wonderfully made by God. A lot of opportunities here on earth but my body is already reserved for the ministry of God. Lord, let my body use to glorify you alone.

REFLECTION 7

William Carey is the Father of Missions. He was a missionary to India and found out the Baptist Missionary Society. He was one of the pioneer of missions that's why a lot of Christian were encouraged to do missions as well. There are many missionaries out there in a different places either in the tribe people or even in a church itself. As long as where God put us, it is our duty to do our job. In Matt. 28;18-20, it states there to go and make disciples. The word that he emphasizes to us Christians is the verb "Make disciples". We cannot make disciples without going that's why he commanded us to go and not come. Go and come is different meaning. "Go" when we are the one who reach them out while "Come" is the act that we invite us from their home to our church. Christ did not do it to himself also. He was the one who go to the people and reached them out.
As I study the subject missions, I learned that there are still many countries are not reach. They did not even hear the word of God and Jesus Christ. Because there are no missionaries go there. As I ponder this calling, I have this desire to reach people as well. I know I am not capable enough to make disciples but with Christ, I can do all things. No matter what happen, it is by His grace. If Christ will work, no worries.

REFLECTION 6

Why study the rise of the baptists? Because it is our heritage, we are a training institution, we are, by conviction, Baptists. Baptists have different distinctive such as like the separation of church and state, authority of scriptures, priesthood of all believers, two ordinances, congregational polity, religious liberty and local church autonomy.
I would focus on authority of scripture. I do believe that God himself is the authority of the Bible. The words are true and it will not pass away according to Matthew 24:35. The living word is the living himself. The scripture is the special revelation to us in order for us to have knowledge about him and make him as our Savior(1 Pet. 1:23). As believer, it is my privilege to study church history because my learning is not just about the people who were involved but the revelation which God used for me to really believe and stick on Him. What a blessing from studying the history of Church.

REFLECTION 5

Reformation, big word. There were big changes when Reformation revolt. The most issue here was the conversion of some Roman Catholic to Christianity because of the pope who ruled in them. One of the great impact of this reformation is that the doctrines were taught in churches. Since the church and state were separated , the church itself can be independent on doing their beliefs.
For me, I learned that reformation helped this generation a lot. Without this happenings in history, maybe we were still under the papal authority . This was a great privilege to know different doctrines and to identify each of them. We are so blessed to have those people who led and taught us to the correct teachings. They were really chosen by God.

REFLECTION 3

Roman Catholic itself claimed that they were the only Christian church. They claim that the pope is the supreme ruler of the church. I assure that there is no religion who can really save people because the Bible only says; "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast"(Eph. 2:8-9).
Because of claiming that they are the perfect church, the cultist groups exist. They have different beliefs , different cultures and customs. One of the issues of a cultist group is the humanity of Christ. Some believes that Jesus is only a perfect human and not fully God, some says He is just a spirit, others say that He is fully God and not man. The reason why there are a lot of beliefs because they had not really studied the Scriptures deeply. Maybe they were just depending on their knowledge and not the Word of God.
Now that I have the relationship with God,I am confident that God chose me to reach those people who doesn't even know the Lord. Especially those people who worship their gods. As the follower of Christ, I want to use my life to reach and connect in order for me to teach them the truth about the humanity of Christ. To God be the glory.

REFLECTION 2

        I do believe that the Church is composed of all believers of all ages between Pentecost and the rapture. Church History pertains to the historical events. Those who are truly believe in Jesus Christ. Studying church history is helpful because it gives us understanding about the events then and we can see how God really preserved his people.
    While studying this subject, I learned how God is omniscient and omnipotent . Before the existence of the world, He settled all his plans in a perfect time  and church history was one of them. Learning  this subject is fun but sometimes my dilemna will pop up. Knowing the names in the history church is my weakness actually because I don't really takes time knowing each of them. But I hope and pray that this subject will open my mind to really study the people back then because they were very important to know. There were lot of contributions that until now we still follow and recognized them as one of the great examples of warrior.

REFLECTION 1

True Christians should experience persecution. By then, Christians were making their best to become a legal Christianity in the Roman Empire until Constantine's approval came. While studying Church History, all the information I've read were new to me. This is a great privilege to know more deeper about the beginning of historical Christianity. I salute those people who were behind this history. They were chosen and led by God. They were the ones who started Christianity.
I learned how God works in his people. I believe that what was happening or the event then were part of God's plan. It is my joy to express my thankfulness to the people whom God chosen. Though they were oppositions but Christians defend their faith because they knew that God is much bigger than those giants out there. To God be the glory!!!!
